Godfathers Win, McKinney 4-4
|
The Pontiac Godfathers grabbed a win, 8-5, over the Washington Generals at Washington Park. Pontiac shortstop Mike McKinney went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The save went to Gil Childers, number 13 for him. The losses continue to mount for Washington, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
The game hit a turning point in the top of the fourth inning, when the Godfathers were trailing 2-1. Lance Guy delivered a two-out 2-run single for Pontiac, catapulting his team into the lead.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Washington manager Micheal Garren.
