Godfathers Beat Holy City, 4-3
|
The Godfathers grabbed a win, 4-3, at Mango Yard, overcoming a fine effort from Holy City pitcher Brady Hinton. Hinton went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Gil Childers came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. The Godfathers have now won 4 straight.
Pontiac used the timely hitting of Lance Guy to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Godfathers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Pontiac manager Allen Yohemas. "It's usually not just one thing."
