Chukars Topple Expos, 9-2
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars racked up a win at Idaho Falls Park, bumping off the Niagara Falls Expos, 9-2. Kaimalie Heathershaw, who started for Idaho Falls, pitched effectively for his team. Heathershaw, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 11, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Niagara Falls has now lost 4 consecutive games.
With no one out in the bottom of the second, Brock Weeks barreled up a slider from Carroll Mason. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Chukars in front, 4-0.
In comments to the Idaho Falls Times, Heathershaw admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
