Tula Snag 4-3 Win
|
The Caldwell Chiefs got a superb performance from pitcher Stanley Cote. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Tula won the game, 4-3. Cote threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Chicago goes to 22-19, Caldwell to 18-23.
The outcome might have been different for Chicago, had it not been for Mario Peña, the 21-year old center fielder . Peña stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Chicago up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Peña told the Chicago Daily News.
