Torch Top Generals, 6-2
|
Christophe Bouet was a vital contributor to the 6-2 Mancelona victory over Washington. The Torch center fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Tom Evans snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits. He's now 2-1 on the season. The Torch are now 16-21, while the Generals fall to 14-23.
Bouet had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Eduardo Soto, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Torch a 3-2 lead. It was the 9th double of the year for Bouet.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bouet told a Mancelona Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
