Tula Top Torch, 3-0, Behind Gibson
|
In a low-scoring game between the Chicago Tula and the Mancelona Torch, pitcher Ernie Gibson was masterful on the mound. The Chicago right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-0 win. Dan Cook picked up the save for Chicago, his 1st of the year. At 18-18, the Tula find themselves in 5th place in the Menard's A.
Gibson dominated for Chicago, raising his record to 2-2. Mancelona hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 4 hits over 8 innings while striking out 6.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Gibson said.
