The Yucca Valley Yellows topped the Pontiac Godfathers, 4-1, in M3L Single A action at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. The standout performance belonged to Yucca Valley pitcher and Kent, Washington, native Steve Green. The winning pitcher was Green, now 2-1. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. Wladimir Rosenburg finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Mike O'Kennelly, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A in runs scored with 20, contributed to the Yucca Valley win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"I wouldn't want to be playing us right now," said Yucca Valley manager Ricardo Vásquez.
