Virginia Beach starter Connor Drake put a stranglehold on the Ft. Polk South offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Whales to a 2-1 win. Drake picked up the win for Virginia Beach, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-11. Ft. Polk South has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Virginia Beach used the clutch hitting of Chris Gambill to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Whales ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
