Dunham Stars for Fighting Imps in 8-6 Win
|
A 5-RBI performance from first baseman Matt Dunham, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in RBI with 74, led the Ithaca Fighting Imps to a win over the Asheville Highlanders, 8-6. Shigetoki Kato was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 11 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Wan-hua Yi earned the save, his 20th, for the Fighting Imps.
Ithaca took a 8-5 lead on Dunham's 24th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Bob O'Slattery in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Ithaca to the win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Dunham said.
After today's action, Ithaca sits at 47-53, while Asheville falls to 46-54.
