Forbes Helps Mercer Island Cruise to 12-3 Win
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles stopped the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 12-3, at Mobile Home Park. The Screaming Eagles got a big game from Denny Forbes, who was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Nick Johnston got the win, improving to 10-1. He held the Turbeaus to no runs on 1 hit over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The first-place Screaming Eagles have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

With Mercer Island leading 9-0 in the top of the eighth, Forbes came up to bat against Gulf Coast pitcher António Rivera. Forbes hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 19th home run of the season put the Screaming Eagles on top, 12-0.
