Screaming Eagles Come Up Short at Gulf Coast, 6-5
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Gulf Coast Turbeaus provided some drama for the home crowd.

Gulf Coast starter António Miranda pitched well against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Mobile Home Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. Miranda picked up the win for Gulf Coast, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-8. Otis Luhgow recorded the save for Gulf Coast, his 27th of the season.

Carlos Ruíz, the Gulf Coast first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 6-3, Turbeaus. For the game, Ruíz was 1-3.

"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Miranda. "It eases the tension."
