Fighting Imps Saddle Polar Bears with 6-4 Loss
|
Ithaca Fighting Imps starter Li Knight was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Billings Polar Bears, 6-4. Knight, now 5-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Wan-hua Yi sewed up the save, his 18th.
In the bottom of the sixth, Ithaca first baseman Matt Dunham put his team on top. With no one out and the bases loaded, he hit his 5th triple of the year. Billings pitcher Ramón Gómez served it up. Just like that, the Fighting Imps were ahead, 3-2.
"Winning never gets dull," said Knight.
With the win over Billings, the Fighting Imps improved to 42-52.
