Asheville starter Timothy Dean clamped down on the Ft. Polk South offense, while his team cruised to victory, 12-1. Dean went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 10. His record improves to 4-7. With the win, the Highlanders improved to 42-50.
Nathan Pretty put Asheville in front, 11-0, when he hit a grand slam home run off Dylan Ziersch in the bottom of the eighth. It was his 4th home run of the season.
Ft. Polk South manager Mike Evans called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
