Screaming Eagles Snatch Late Win
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles bested the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-2, at Mercer Island Grounds. Joe Hurley was one of the standouts. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Screaming Eagles, at 72-20, have a comfortable 17-game lead in their division.

In the bottom of the eighth, Hurley put his team in front with his 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Dave Browning, made it 4-2, Mercer Island.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Mercer Island manager Ricardo Vargas.
