Virginia Beach Whales starter Jim McKee was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Athletic Club KC Academy, 4-1. Virginia Beach reliever Marcel Traas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Chih Hoong took the loss. Peter O'Farrell was credited with the save for Virginia Beach, his 20th of the season.

In the bottom of the sixth, Chris Gambill delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Virginia Beach shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Whales in front, 4-1.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Gambill.

Virginia Beach has a record of 36-54, placing them last in the Premier AA.
