In a tight contest at Imps Park, the Ithaca Fighting Imps edged the Virginia Beach Whales by the score of 7-6. Ithaca center fielder Darryl Stansberry, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Ithaca reliever Wan-hua Yi was the winner. His record is now 3-2. Peter O'Farrell took the loss. The 5th-place Fighting Imps improved to 40-47.

The game ended in the bottom of the tenth when Stansberry hit a tie-breaking solo home run. The long ball, his 3rd home run of the season, gave Ithaca a dramatic win.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Stansberry. "I like it."
