Virginia Beach starter Jeff Vázquez kept the Ft. Polk South hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 10-1. With the victory, the Whales record now stands at 33-45.

Early in the game, catcher Dariusz Bonkski had a run-scoring double for Virginia Beach. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Whales on top, 1-0.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Vázquez.
