Virginia Beach picked up a win at Virginia Beach Grounds, toppling the Crescent City Krewe, 5-3. Pitcher Connor Drake was one of the reasons the Whales triumphed. The 8th-place Whales improved to 31-44.

The Whales got an important contribution from catcher Ed Miller, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a first pitch sinker into right for a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Whales ahead, 4-2.

Miller called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
