Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Asheville Highlanders and Gulf Coast Turbeaus.

Gulf Coast third baseman Sergio Poston had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Asheville at Mobile Home Park. Poston was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Asheville pitcher Andy Johnson got the win, upping his record to 4-4. Pavel Ofitserov got the loss.

Max Hoban broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the eighth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Highlanders in front, 6-5. For the game, Hoban went 1-3 with a walk.

"We found a way to get it done," Hoban said.

With the win, Asheville has a record of 35-39. Gulf Coast falls to 32-42.
