Mercer Island and Crescent City got after it at Field of the Krewe.

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Crescent City Krewe, 6-3, at Field of the Krewe. Mercer Island pitcher José Gonzáles had a superb performance. He threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs. Mercer Island has an impressive 57-15 record.

Mercer Island used a well-timed hit by Noel Higgins to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Higgins said his team "executed a good game plan."
