Fighting Imps Down Screaming Eagles, 5-4

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Ithaca Fighting Imps provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Ithaca Fighting Imps beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-4. Ithaca pitcher and Yokohama, Japan, native Shigetoki Kato led the way. The save went to Wan-hua Yi, his 14th this season.
Having an impact for Ithaca was Jeffrey Sparks. In the bottom of the second inning, the 28-year old shortstop had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 4-2, Fighting Imps.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Sparks.
Ithaca is 35-34 and Mercer Island, with the loss, 55-14.
