Asheville right-hander Yermolay Olhivsky pitched his team to victory over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis at Field of the Rawhides. The final score was 5-0. Andy Johnson converted his 8th save in 10 tries. The Highlanders now have a mark of 33-35.
It could have been a different outcome for Asheville, had it not been for Pete Hill, the 22-year old third baseman . Hill contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Asheville up, 1-0.
Olhivsky attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
