In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks starter Jorge Salas turned in an exceptional performance against the Billings Polar Bears at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, resulting in a Ft. Polk South win, 5-1. Salas picked up the win for Ft. Polk South, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 5-4. Lloyd Anderson, credited with the save, is now 5 for 8 in save opportunities.
Ft. Polk South second baseman Josh Miller contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball into right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 65th hit of the season and put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 3-1.
"Jorge is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Ft. Polk South manager Mike Evans.
The 'W' lifts Ft. Polk South's record to 27-38.
