Starting pitcher Nick Johnston was a major factor in the 3-2 Mercer Island Screaming Eagles triumph over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis. The Screaming Eagles boast a remarkable 52-13 record.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Mercer Island shortstop Noel Higgins, facing David Cuevas, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Screaming Eagles the 3-2 win.
