Virginia Beach Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Fernando Tabárez, the Virginia Beach Whales defeated the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 7-6. Tabárez was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Whales. The winner was Virginia Beach reliever Shawn Walker, now 1-1. The loser was Wan-hua Yi. The win makes Virginia Beach 26-38.

In the bottom of the second, with one out and the game tied, 0-0, shortstop Mibre Chipley won it for Virginia Beach. With the bases loaded, Chipley hit a 1-0 curveball from Shigetoki Kato for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 1-0 win.
