Fighting Imps Scratch and Claw to 3-2 Win
The Ithaca Fighting Imps eked out a 3-2 win versus the Squirrel Hill Pierogis at Field of the Rawhides. Nobody did more than pitcher Millard Clement. He was terrific. Clement went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-3. Wan-hua Yi recorded the save for Ithaca, his 13th of the season.

Ithaca used the clutch hitting of Olvido Doesburg to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Ithaca manager Albert Pérez.

With the win over Squirrel Hill, the Fighting Imps improved to 34-29.
