Davidson Delivers Walk-Off Win for Krewe
|
The Crescent City Krewe defeated the Billings Polar Bears, 5-4, in USPL Double A action at Field of the Krewe. Crescent City pitcher Horace Hill had a standout performance. Reliever Dennis Sims picked up the win. His record improves to 3-3. Bob Robinson took the loss. Crescent City has now won 5 straight, while the Polar Bears have lost 5 in a row.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, first baseman Derek Davidson won it for Crescent City. With the bases loaded, Davidson hit a 1-1 fastball from Bob Robinson for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"This place sure got loud," said David Martínez, the Crescent City manager.
