Mercer Island Screaming Eagles starter José Miranda turned in a top-notch performance against the Virginia Beach Whales at Virginia Beach Grounds. The result was a win for the Screaming Eagles, 5-2. Miranda, now 6-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Geoffrey Da Costa.

Orlando Figoroa had a critical at-bat with no one out in the top of the sixth for Mercer Island. He came through with a run-scoring triple to put Mercer Island in front, 4-1.
