The bats were silent much of the day at KC Academy Field. But Sergio Poston conjured up just enough offense to carry the Turbeaus past the Athletic Club KC Academy, 3-2. Poston was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. Mario Noceda, now 2-3, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The Turbeaus sit in 9th place in the Premier AA with a record of 20-31.
Gulf Coast used the timely hitting of Brian Kwasnika to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Turbeaus on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Gulf Coast manager Mike Norman said afterward.
