The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles topped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 7-1, at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island left fielder Koji Sugisata banged out 2 singles and 2 doubles, while driving in 2 runs. Lorenzo Castillo, the winner, improved to 5-0. He held the Thunder Hawks to no runs on 3 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. At 41-10, Mercer Island is in first place in the Premier AA.

With Mercer Island leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Sugisata hit a fastball from Jorge Salas for a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 3-0.
