Alaskan got a big-time effort from pitcher Will O'Halloran, but it wasn't enough to keep the Mancelona Torch from winning the game, 3-1. O'Halloran threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Gerjan Wemerman, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The loss drops the Bush Pilots to 7-6.
Mancelona took a 3-1 lead on Kevin Swanson's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Alaskan pitcher Allen Warm in the bottom of the eighth.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Torch manager Joe Wilson, "I like our chances."
