Highlanders Dealt 5-2 Loss by Ft. Polk South
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Asheville Highlanders, 5-2, in USPL Double A action at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ft. Polk South pitcher Vicente Valentín. The Thunder Hawks raised their record to 17-26.
Gilby O'Bryan dealt the Highlanders a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Ft. Polk South leading 2-0, O'Bryan, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in hits with 55, hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run double.
In postgame comments to the Ft. Polk South Observer, O'Bryan said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
