Asheville Highlanders starter Dale Burney pitched a strong game against the Gulf Coast Turbeaus at Asheville Park, leading the Highlanders to victory, 2-1. At 21-21, the Highlanders find themselves in 5th place in the Premier AA.
Asheville designated hitter Orel Vodarsky made an impact. He drilled a double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Vodarsky went 1-3 with a double.
"We scored one run," said Gulf Coast manager Mike Norman. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
