Billings pitcher Carl Cooper did his part in helping his team beat the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. At 21-20, Billings is in 4th place in the Premier AA.
Francisco Gómez put Billings in front, 3-0, when he hit a 2-run home run off Daniel Goodwin in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 7th home run of the season.
Gómez told a Billings Today reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
