Fighting Imps Bridle Highlanders, 3-2
|
Ithaca starter Chet Walker pitched well against the Asheville Highlanders at Imps Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. With the win, Ithaca pushed its record to 14-14.
Ithaca took a 3-2 lead on Eldon Church's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Church hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Asheville pitcher Bob O'Slattery shaking his head.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Walker. "Successful pitchers do it."
