The Squirrel Hill Pierogis got a stellar performance from pitcher Oliver Haddow, who handcuffed the Billings offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Field of the Rawhides. Martin Lumley recorded the save, his 1st. The win gives Squirrel Hill a record of 1-1.

Javier Ortega contributed to the Squirrel Hill win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," Haddow said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
