Yakima picked up a win at Hops Park, toppling the Olympia Ogres, 3-2. Pitcher Spencer McCarthy was one of the reasons the Hops triumphed. Iván Vidro, credited with the win, is now 4-7. He allowed no runs on no hits. The 4th-place Hops have won 4 in a row.
Had Pepe Castillo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Castillo hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Hops.
"I like our mindset right now," said Yakima manager Benjamin Baars.
