Guinea Pigs Drop Thunder, 3-2, with Late Score
|
Gwinnett picked up a win at Experimental Stadium, toppling the St. Petersburg Thunder, 3-2. Pitcher Ji-chor Ho was one of the reasons the Guinea Pigs triumphed. Gwinnett reliever Norio Uchiyama picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Albert Silver was saddled with the loss. The Guinea Pigs, at 53-37, lead by one game in their division.
Lawrence Wilson was the walk-off hero for Gwinnett. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Guinea Pigs center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Ho said.
