Bethesda left fielder Tucker Horne had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Horne was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, even as Pine Island beat the Atoms, 7-5. Bob Porter got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings. The 4th-place Dolphins lifted their record to 45-40.

Freddie Wilson, the 27-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Wilson contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Pine Island up, 4-2.
