Licalde Leads Thunder to Win
Led by Manuel Licalde, the St. Petersburg Thunder defeated the Minnesota Loons, 11-5. Licalde went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Thunder. Randy Crane, the winning pitcher, is now 8-4. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2. At 38-31, the Thunder are currently third in the Silver AA.

There was more than one reason the Thunder beat the Loons, but Licalde's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Licalde.
