Chesapeake Beats Minnesota, 7-4
|
The Cangrejos Fantasmas grabbed a win, 7-4, at Loony Bin, overcoming a fine effort from Minnesota pitcher Sidney Jones. Jones went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The save went to Gilberto Cruz, number 2 for him. The Cangrejos Fantasmas now own a record of 32-32.
Chesapeake used the clutch hitting of Ambrose Jackson to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 7-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It was a solid team effort," said Jackson after the game.
