Bethesda Still On the Schneid After 5-4 Loss to Hops
|
The Yakima Hops topped the Bethesda Atoms by a score of 5-4. Leading the way was right fielder Andre Stenis. Stenis went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Hops. Javier Vargas earned the save for Yakima, his 8th of the year. The losing skid has reached 18 games for Bethesda.
Stenis had a timely hit for Yakima in the bottom of the seventh. With Bethesda trailing 4-2, he turned a first pitch fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Yakima.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Yakima manager Benjamin Baars.
