Yoshikawa Silences Minnesota Bats
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs and the Minnesota Loons, pitcher Daisuke Yoshikawa was the difference between victory and defeat. The Gwinnett right-hander earned accolades in the 1-0 Guinea Pigs win. The win hiked the Gwinnett record to 16-13.
Yoshikawa was in the zone all game. He frustrated Minnesota hitters while giving the Guinea Pigs 8 innings of quality work. Yoshikawa threw 101 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 5 punchouts.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Yoshikawa.
