Cangrejos Fantasmas Snatch Late Win
|
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas took St. Petersburg pitcher Randy Crane's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Baby Thunder Dome. The final score had Chesapeake getting past the Thunder, 6-3. Crane went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Reggie Schalk came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Chesapeake is now 12-14, while St. Petersburg is 15-11.
Chesapeake used the timely hitting of Chae-ho Nan to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I really like what we did out there today," Nan said after the game.
