The Bethesda Atoms went down to defeat to Bob Wicks and his Providence teammates. The final score was 4-1 in favor of the Pilgrims. Wicks, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. The victory gives Providence a record of 12-12.
James Hall went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Providence. In the bottom of the second, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Hall delivered for the Pilgrims. His run-scoring ground out put Providence on top, 2-1.
