Pine Island Topples Marquette, 7-1
|
Pine Island starter Gabriel Salas put a stranglehold on the Marquette offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Dolphins to a 7-1 win. Salas went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-1. The Miners are now 7-12.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Goodyear Hanger Dome seemed to enjoy watching the USSL Double A action.
"Gabriel did a tremendous job," said Pine Island manager Chua-kah Liu.
