Guinea Pigs Drop Loons, 6-1

Gwinnett Guinea Pigs starter Sebastian Brown turned in a top-notch performance against the Minnesota Loons at Loony Bin. The result was a win for the Guinea Pigs, 6-1. In 6 innings, Brown surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Brody Avery closed the door for Gwinnett, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Gwinnett relied on the hitting of Ahti Riikonen to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Guinea Pigs on top, 1-0. For the game, Riikonen had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Riikonen told a Gwinnett Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
At 9-4, the Guinea Pigs have played well so far.
