Thunder Roll to 8-2 Win Over Dolphins
St. Petersburg Thunder starter Jorge Ortíz had all his pitches working at Baby Thunder Dome. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 St. Petersburg win over the Pine Island Dolphins. Ortíz picked up the win for St. Petersburg, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. With the win, St. Petersburg goes to 3-4.

The Dolphins had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Thunder going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old second baseman Kauto Jarvi came to the plate. Jarvi hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 fastball from Pine Island hurler Brent Richardson. It was Jarvi's 2nd double of the year.
