The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs got a strong performance from pitcher Elijah Cox, who stymied the Marquette offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Marquette Stadium. The save was credited to Norio Uchiyama, his 1st. With the win, Gwinnett climbs to 5-0.

Gwinnett needed the clutch hitting of Sergio Acevedo to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Guinea Pigs on top, 6-2. For the game, Acevedo had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"This team is real focused right now," said Gwinnett manager Pedro Vázquez.
