Fat Cats Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Ottawa Fat Cats overcame a fine performance by Lancaster first baseman Jay Bonis to defeat the Farmers, 6-5, at Nationals Park. Bonis was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With this game in the books, Ottawa is 58-41, Lancaster 38-61.
The Fat Cats relied on first baseman Bill Martin for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 12th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Ottawa manager Ismael González.
